Popular Routes

  • Simón Bolívar Park Loop - 5km circuit around Colombia's largest urban park. Flat path, perfect for tempo runs.
  • Parque Virrey Linear Park - 3km tree-lined greenway through upscale Chapinero. Safe, well-lit for evening runs.
  • Ciclovía Sunday Routes - 20km+ of car-free streets every Sunday 7am-2pm. Join thousands of runners and cyclists.
  • Cerro de Monserrate Climb - 2.5km brutal ascent to sanctuary at 3,152m. Gain 500m elevation. True altitude challenge.

Local Tips

  • Altitude is 2,600m - expect to run 30-60 seconds slower per km initially. Hydrate obsessively.
  • Every Sunday 7am-2pm Ciclovía closes 120km of streets to cars. It's a runners' paradise.
  • Air quality varies. Check pollution index before morning runs. Parks are best for clean air.
  • Rainy season is April-May and October-November. Bring waterproof jacket year-round.
  • Crime exists but running groups are safe. Stick to main parks and populated areas. Run with crews.
  • Bogotá's run clubs are incredibly welcoming to internationals. Spanish helps but not required.
