Popular Routes

  • Chapultepec Forest Circuit - 4-11km network of trails through massive urban forest. Rolling hills, shade, history.
  • Paseo de la Reforma Sunday Run - 10km car-free boulevard every Sunday morning. Iconic route past monuments.
  • Viveros de Coyoacán Loop - 2km dirt path around tree nursery. Soft surface, chill vibes, local favorite.
  • Bosque de Tlalpan Trails - 5-15km mountain bike trails south of city. Technical terrain, pine forests.
  • Circuito Interior Night Ride - Not recommended for running, but surrounding streets have good running infrastructure.
  • Parque Lincoln Loop - 1.5km neighborhood park in Polanco. Safe, well-lit, good for easy recovery runs.

Local Tips

  • Altitude is 2,240m - expect to run 20-30 seconds per km slower at first. You'll adapt in 2 weeks.
  • Muévete en Bici closes Reforma to cars every Sunday 8am-2pm. Perfect for long runs.
  • Air quality can be terrible. Check pollution levels. Run early morning or in parks with trees.
  • Rainy season June-September means afternoon storms. Morning runs are drier.
  • Crime varies by neighborhood. Reforma, Polanco, Condesa, Roma are safest. Always run with crew at night.
  • Mexico City has exploded with run clubs in past 5 years. Every neighborhood has multiple options.
