About Koreatown Run Club (KRC)
A large, influential running crew based in LA’s Koreatown, started in 2016 by Mike Pak and Duy Nguyen to bring the community together through running. KRC is known for its energetic, culture-infused vibe – they host runs 3–4 times a week: “Monday Night Blocks” (7 PM) offering 3 or 5 mile routes through K-town, Wednesday night track sessions (7:45 PM at LACC), Thursday 8 PM runs from the local burger joint Love Hour (with burgers and drinks after), and rotating Saturday morning long runs. All paces are truly welcome (the club’s motto: “everyone is welcome – just show up") and routes often split into 3 vs 5 mile options to accommodate levels. KRC’s runs are free and often attract 50+ runners, combining serious training (intervals, marathon prep) with a fun, social atmosphere celebrating Korean-American culture and community.
